| Tweaks from Chemical Industry Organizations Who Tweak on Twitter Richard Torian January 14, 2011 Shown at the end of this article are recent tweaks from six chemical industry organizations that tweak on Twitter. These six organizations are: Chemical Processing Chemical News Chemical Week Dow Chemical ICIS Chemical Business Chemical Markets The tweets are shown in ascending order by the name of the chemical organization. Current tweet topics from these six organizations include: Economic outlook for the US chemical industry in 2011 Chemical plant energy efficiency Chemical plant homeland security Chemical plant capacities Chemical product logistics Chemical company mergers Chemical companies Chemical industry production trends Chemical industry sales tends Chemical industry supply trends Chemical market information Tweets, like RSS feeds, can be created quickly and frequently and easily delivered to a desktop (or mobile device) as shown below. Looking at the tweet subjects below and the subject list above, one should understand that tweets can be a valuable source of information, information which is often unique. Therefore, being able to manage tweets as an information source and to exploit the value in this information source should be an important goal in the use of the Internet to help decisions makers. One way of managing this information is to use Yahoo Pipes to pull the tweets (as RSS feeds) from each of the above organizations into a Yahoo Pipe and then to show the individual RSS feeds as one feed, as is done below. |
