| Using Yahoo Pipes to Show Upcoming Training, Exhibits, and Trade Show Events Richard Torian March 10, 2009 Yahoo Pipes can be used to filter RSS feeds for upcoming events to find an event on a subject you are interested in. RSS feeds are being used to announce upcoming events. By fetching these feeds, using Yahoo Pipes, and filtering the fetched feeds for a keyword topic, upcoming events dealing with that keyword topic will be provided to you. An example is shown by clicking here. Upcoming events that use accounting in the event title or description are displayed in the example. Organizations that sponsor and promote training, exhibits, trade shows, and other events can use RSS feeds as a way of announcing and promoting those events. Currently, some do, but the percentage of such organizations that do use RSS feeds to announce their upcoming events seems to be very low. An Internet search found 14 organizations that promote accounting-related events using RSS feeds to announce these upcoming events. This is surely a small percentage of the organizations that do sponsor and promote upcoming accounting-related events.
