Site's Quality Program

The site manager seeks to maintain a high quality website.  Hopefully, by maintaining high quality, the site will be easier and more enjoyable to use, and also be a more effective source of needed information for management accountants.

To try to achieve high quality, the manager has a program designed to measure the quality and also to improve it.  Information on this Quality Program is provided here.

Google Analytics is used to routinely monitored the following measurements as indicators of current quality:
count for             count for            count for

February 2010       January 2010      December 2009

visits to website                                                      351                        301                   392
% new visitors  (lower is better, want returns)             83%                      86%                  78%
total page views                                                       576                       471                   618
bounce rate  (lower is better, shows interest)               68%                      71%                  71%
average time on site  (minutes)                                     1 min                     1 min                1 min
average pages visited per visit                                    1.6                        1.6                    1.6

Hopefully, these measurements will show positive (improved quality) trends.  As trends become obvious, the site manager will try to take steps to correct unfavorable results.

Besides monitoring and responding to the above numbers, the site manager, during his own frequent use of the
Management Accounting Information Center (MAIC) to find management accounting-related information, evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of the site's performance.  This evaluation, hopefully, also leads to improved quality.

Links to other websites are checked, and repaired as needed, monthly.  The site manager greatly appreciates notification about links that no longer connect.

The quality of the RSS feed content being pull to the
MAIC website is also checked regularly.   Where quality is bad for the news feeds, new search terms are tried.  Other feeds that are not delivering sufficient quality are removed.

An important component of the
Management Accounting Information Center’s Quality Program is the research, analysis, and writing that support the articles that appear at the Center’s site.  You can click to a further explanation of these articles by clicking "Articles Posted" on the home page.

And finally, a very important part of the
Management Accounting Information Center’s Quality Program is feedback from users.  Presented here are the  most recent feedback comments, with their dates of submission:
